Professional Development

Accreditation in Public Relations (APR)

In the world of communications, Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a powerful way to elevate your career and stand out as a strategic, ethical PR professional.

The APR is earned by practitioners who are committed to excellence, sound judgment, and best practices across research, planning, implementation, and evaluation (RPIE). It signals not just experience, but a deeper level of credibility, leadership, and confidence in your work.

While the process is rigorous, it’s also incredibly rewarding. Candidates present their knowledge to a panel of Accredited peers and complete a comprehensive examination designed to strengthen strategic thinking and professional decision-making. Most importantly, earning your APR demonstrates a strong commitment to PRSA’s Code of Ethics and to advancing the profession as a whole.

If you’re ready to challenge yourself, grow your expertise, and invest in your long-term career success, APR may be your next move.

Learn more about the APR process and explore resources available to members. For guidance and support, contact our Director of APR.

mentor/MENTEE opportunities

Support Students. Shape the Future of PR.

PRSA Inland Empire is proud to support the next generation of public relations professionals through meaningful mentorship opportunities. Our members play a vital role in helping students gain real-world insight, build confidence, and explore career paths in the communications field.

Host a Student Through Shadow Month
Interested in opening your virtual or on-site workspace to a student? PRSA members can participate in Shadow Month by hosting students from local universities, including Cal State San Bernardino, California Baptist University, and Cal Poly Pomona. Students observe day-to-day workplace activities and learn firsthand what it’s like to work in public relations.

It’s a simple, impactful way to give back and inspire future PR leaders. To become a host, contact our PRSSA Director.

Sponsor a PR Graduate with a PRSA Associate Membership

PRSA Inland Empire has a long-standing tradition of mentoring, coaching, and championing public relations students and recent graduates. We invite our members to continue this legacy by sponsoring a PR graduate who is ready to take the next step in their professional journey.

Associate membership is available to recent graduates for $67, plus the Inland Empire Chapter membership of $65, for a total sponsorship of $132. Many of our current members — including past board members — first joined PRSA through the gift of an associate membership.

Sponsors are recognized at chapter events and on our website and social media.
To support future PR professionals, contact PRSA-IE's President.

Polaris Awards

Each year, PRSA Inland Empire proudly recognizes the region’s most impactful and strategic public relations campaigns and tactics through the PRSA-IE Polaris Awards. These awards celebrate the creativity, strategy, and results-driven work shaping communications across the Inland Empire.
